MY BACKGROUND
I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and immigrated to the United States with my parents at the age of five. My early years were shaped by my grandparents, who had fled to Taiwan during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, bringing with them a spirit of resilience and hope. This background instilled in me a deep understanding of the complexities of migration, identity, and cultural adaptation.

Growing up, I faced many challenges, from experiencing microaggressions and racism to navigating the dynamics of an authoritarian household marked by mental illness, addiction, acculturation struggles, and emotional neglect, further compounding my sense of not belonging.

Despite these difficulties, as a 1.5-generation immigrant, I took on the role of translator, helper, and advocate for my parents, fostering an innate desire to help others overcome adversity. The struggles I endured helped me value social justice, equality, and fair treatment of all human beings. These core values would eventually lead me to pursue a master’s in social work.

However, my path to getting there wasn't a straight one. Plagued with fear, self-doubt, and identity confusion, I took the safe route and studied communications pursuing jobs in finance, advertising/marketing only to find myself uninspired, unsure of what my life’s purpose was. Feeling disconnected, I realized what I truly wanted was to make a difference in the world and help people.
MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

With renewed focus and a strong alignment with my core values, I embarked on my professional calling and attended the University of Southern California, where I earned a Master of Science in Social Work, focusing on Health and Gerontology. My academic achievements along with advanced clinical training have equipped me with a solid foundation to support my clients effectively.

Professionally, I have worked across various settings, from community mental health programs, health care management programs and outpatient behavioral health settings. Each role has enriched my understanding of different mental health challenges and reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
MY APPROACH
My practice is rooted in a deep belief in the power of transformation and healing. My approach is integrative, combining techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Somatic Embodiment, Sound Healing, EMDR best practices, and more to address a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, and relationship challenges.

Understanding that each person's journey is unique, I strive to cultivate a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. My own experiences with anxiety, depression, and intergenerational trauma inform my empathetic approach and drive my passion for helping others navigate their paths to wellness.
